The Do's and The Don'ts for online Networking / Marketing

You're probably thinking, what is this all about - you're young - you know all the new trends!?"; that's only half true.  I've been coding websites for as long as I can remember, and things have changed drastically.  I've been able to easily snag #1 result on Google and related engines, but that was over 5 years ago.  5 years isn't much to any average Joe, but when it comes to technology it can seem like a lifetime.
- Try to remember when tabled layouts were more than acceptable!

The "New Web" is just cluttered with social media networks - and this is great - but it can prove very difficult to optimize anything for search engines.  Everything has become what you could call "organic".  It's not longer focused on hits or links, it's focused on content and interest.  Hits and links still play a key role, but the old "link spamming" tactics don't work anymore.

Let me guide you through some key Tactics to help bring your website recognition!

The Don'tsdonts

Don't Force Traffic ::

It's all about You generating interest, trying to force people to see your website by spamming links just wont work.  You will end up getting a high bounce ratio with numerous pointless hits - it might work temporarily, but it will kill your recognition & followers sooner or later.

Top 5 Misconceptions about How Social Media traffic Converts

a distinguished and most prominent colleague of mine came up with the idea for this post. The 100th post of jesperastrom.com. Social Media and conversion is one of those questions I think about all the time. The foundation for my analysis lies within the presentation I held at Search meet in 2009. It is all about baby steps, looking for small conversions leading to the final goal of a financial transaction.

About Ubiquity_12619291367451. The landing page is only about the offer

One of the greatest misconceptions when it comes to social media conversion is that of the offer.

How do I change my router's IP address? Linksys FAQ - dslreports.com

How do I change my router's IP address?

You have decided that your router needs to have a different IP address, so you've found the spot in its setup that lets you change the IP. So far, so good. But you need to be prepared before you change the address, or you won't be able to access the router afterward. This process applies pretty generically to just about any network device with a changeable IP address.

Usability Testing Tips and Handbook -10 Web Testing Questions that Matter

10 Web Testing Questions that Matter

1website-contractI’m going to help you take your service to a new level today. We’re going to play a game. A game motivated by our users. When you visit a new site, what questions come up in your mind? How long does it take you to decide to stay or go?

Visitors who are new to your site do the same thing. They come, with many questions and few answers. In a few moments they answer the questions to their satisfaction and move on or become your customer.

Today’s exercise is about knowing what these questions are, identifying how you would answer them, and then learning how visitors answer them. Knowing where your visitor’s answers to these web questions differ from yours will empower you to improve.

Now for the web testing questions:

1. Who runs this site or business?

Not every visitor is looking for your biography and social security number. Still it helps to have an indicator that lets them know they can learn who you are. Why? Knowing who you are helps build rapport. Having no way to find out who you are (especially if someone is looking) may create the impression that you have something to hide.
